Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung-Hun Lee (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and Anthony Hopkins join Bruce Willis, John Malkovich (Con Air, Transformers: Dark of the Moon), Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds, the upcoming R.I.P.D.) and Helen Mirren in RED 2, the sequel to 2010′s action-comedy RED.
Directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest), RED 2 brings back retired black ops agents Frank Moses (Willis) and Marvin Boggs (Malkovich) as they use their old-school tactics to take on new enemies across Europe. RED screenwriters Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber return for the second installment:
RED was based on Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner’s three-issue comic series published in 2003 and 2004 by Homage Comics, an imprint of former DC Entertainment imprint WildStorm, founded by Jim Lee.
RED 2, a DC Entertainment and DiBonaventura Pictures production distributed by Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment, is scheduled for release August 2, 2013.
