Warner Bros. has announced that Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios’ DC Comics fighter, Injustice: Gods Among Us, will be released April 16 for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U in the U.S., and on April 19 in Europe, according to CVG.
Limited editions, available for Xbox 360 and PS3, will be priced at $99.99 and include an exclusive DC Collectibles statue featuring Batman and Wonder Woman, the Fortress of Solitude, and the Last Son of Krypton’s escape ship, a special “collector’s edition” of the Injustice: Gods Among Us comic, a digital download of the DC Universe animated film Justice League: Doom, and three exclusive skins based on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman from The New 52.
Also available in North America and Canada will be the Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Edition for $149.99. Only carried by GameStop and EB Games, the Battle Edition will include the game, character skins and an exclusive fight stick featuring official artwork from the game.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is reportedly set to include other DC Comics icons such as Bane, the Joker, Harley Quinn, The Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern and more:
“Our team is excited to make a fighting game that is filled with fast-paced action, incredible story-telling and iconic DC Comics characters,” said NetherRealm creative director Studios Ed Boon.
“With Injustice: Gods Among Us, we are creating an all-new franchise with incredible battles set in the DC Comics Universe,” said Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president Martin Tremblay back in May. “NetherRealm Studios is the extremely talented team behind the latest Mortal Kombat hit and it is developing a game unlike any other in the fighting genre.”
