The best-selling mobile game franchise, Angry Birds, has a history with getting into the nest with Hollywood. Angry Birds: Rio was released alongside the release of the movie of the same name. However, developer Rovio may have hit the movie license jackpot if the image at the head of this article is what it appears to be.
The below tweet was posted by Rovio, and from all indications it seems that a Star Wars version of Angry Birds will be announced, and possibly hitting the app stores, next week. However, if you view the bottom of the post on the Angry Birds Tumblr page, it states “HINT: Head to Toys R Us at 8 AM EST!” This would seem odd if this were an announcement of a new mobile game, although perhaps it could also indicate a new line of toys and plushes will be released concurrently with the game.
We will be certainly keeping our probe droids active Monday in hopes of seeing what Rovio is announcing or releasing. Looks like the term Millennium Falcon may take on a whole new meaning next week.
