So you got your shiny new iPhone, and suddenly after adding all of your music, video, photos, and apps, you realize there’s not enough space on your iPhone for your digital life. Problem is – or was – that the iPhone’s memory is fixed, meaning there’s no Micro SD card slot to expand your memory beyond what Cupertino included. Or is there?
It’s safe to say after five years and six iPhones, the ability to expand your storage with a Micro SD card on your iPhone isn’t coming from Apple. That’s where the iExpander comes in. Currently on Kickstarter, the iExpander gives your iPhone the Micro SD card slot you’ve always wanted, but aren’t ever going to get from Apple.
The iExpander is an iPhone case that not only protects your iPhone, but adds a Micro SD slot to allow you to add any Micro SD card, no matter how big or small, to your iPhone for those extra few – or many – gigabytes you need. iExpander adds a circuit board to an iPhone case that has a Micro SD card slot opening at the bottom right side of your iPhone. Simply slip the case onto your iPhone, which connects to the 30-pin dock connector or Lightning port for iPhone 5. Immediately, your iPhone has the potential for expanded storage via Micro SD.

To get your photos, music, or any other files from your iPhone to your new found extra memory, iExpander will have a native iOS application available when it ships this December (target date of December 6th) just in time for the holidays.
As if that weren’t enough the iExpander is also including some extra goodies! The case will also include an extra battery to give your iPhone a little more juice when you need it. The extra battery indicator will be shown right on your iPhone’s screen, so you’ll always know exactly how much juice you have left.

The iExpander also includes an additional camera flash that claims to offer better low light performance than the standard iPhone flash.
The iExpander is now only $75 on Kickstarter, $25 less than a fixed upgrade in storage from Apple. If you’re a power iPhone user, or someone who has a lot of digital content, the iExpander is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. The iExpander works with the iPhone 4, 4S, and iPhone 5. Backers will get their choice of which iExpander they want upon successful funding at $125,000. Check out the full Kickstarter video below.
